The painful truth

Recently, a close friend shared an article on honesty on social media platforms. Or more accurately, the low frequency of it. I read the piece and smiled at the moments intending as much, and also in response to considering my own approach to self-representation across digitized social channels. I could do better.

So, this: I am feeling low. Exceptionally so.

The commencement of 2014 has been trying, and simply, I’m sad. Eventually, it will pass. I realize this. But until it does, know I love being a mother. I love my profession, too. But not always. Sometimes, smiling becomes a conscious effort to meet the expectations of others.
